Mitchell was formerly General Counsel for a Utah based construction and development company (  In that capacity, given his financial background, Mitchell also heavily participated in the financial underwriting, entitlements, development and other project-related tasks.  He has acquired extensive real estate experience, helped successfully delegate and close hundreds of commercial and residential real estate transactions. 


Examples of some projects Mitchell has worked on include residential (or mixed use) land development projects ranging from smaller 15-20 lot subdivisions to 600+ lot master planned communities, apartment complexes with 150+ units, project-specific loans in excess of $30 million per project, and real estate acquisitions in excess of $40 million per project.


Mitchell received his undergraduate degree in Business Management, Finance Emphasis and graduated with high honors from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.

Michael began his career as a financial analyst for IBM.  After graduating from law school in 2008, he moved to Houston, Texas to join Baker Botts’ corporate / mergers and acquisitions team.  During his time at Baker Botts, Michael represented both public and private company clients in mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt offerings, real estate deals and other business transactions. 


In 2010, Michael moved to Dallas and accepted a position as General Counsel for SB International, Inc., a well-respected company in the oil and gas industry. In his capacity as General Counsel, Michael has negotiated numerous acquisitions and land purchases and has worked on hundreds of loan transactions. 


Michael graduated summa cum laude from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, and he received his Juris Doctor degree, with high honors, from Brigham Young University.
